Buckwheat Pancakes & Braised Pear

Braised Pear

4 oranges
2 pears
1 tablespoon of brown sugar
1 sprig rosemary
1/2 cups of water

In a sauté pan over medium heat, melt butter, brown sugar and salt. Stir until sugar is melted and reduce heat. Add pear, cut in half and simmer. Add the juice of the 4 oranges and water, and rosemary basting frequently. Once pears are tender (about 8- 10 minutes) Serve immediately.

Buckwheat Pancakes

1 cup buckwheat flour
1 1/2 teaspoon of sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups whole milk
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla
1 tablespoon of butter

  1. Whisk Buckwheat flour, sugar, baking powder and salt together in a bowl
  2. Beat milk, egg and vanilla extract together in another bowl. Pour flour mixture into milk mixture; whisk until batter is thick and smooth.
  3. Melt butter on griddle over medium heat. Drop batter by large spoonfuls onto the griddle and cook until bubbles and edges are dry, 3 to 4 minutes

Serve warm
